Just buy a pair Beer Goggles and save yourself the morning hangover. Then everything will look better, even the junk that gets listed.
M-T couplers maybe, but definitely not an M-T caboose. Such a deal for only $20 plus Shipping and the smoke stack is missing too. https://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Scale-Mi...249486?hash=item443c0cd2ce:g:wpQAAOSwsQNcueJx
Same sort of person calls a lawn mower a "Honda mower" just because it has a Honda motor on it, regardless of who made the cutting deck.
If I was to make a guess, I'd say it's an Atlas caboose with Micro-Trains trucks that still have the pizza cutter flange wheelsets. I think the funnest part of the entire auction is the “Like new condition. No box.” statement. As a FYI: This is an Atlas Caboose (Top) compared to a Micro-Trains Caboose (Bottom) There is a bit of a difference between the two.
The funny thing about this is that the seller could put it as a 'buy it now' for $10 and might get a bite from a newbie accustomed to seeing similar hoppers selling for $15+. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
Either this seller has an urealistic interpretation of pricing, or these things are insanely popular in Japan. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kato-Usa-1...006182?hash=item1cd48ba666:g:68MAAOSwFBtdHtoK
And on another Note: Looking at the end of purchasing anything when the 'e-tailler' sets a minimum 50$US postage fee for overseas delivery. Just not equitable pal... that makes purchases 4 x the US value. I know a small packet can be done for $10US. But these crazies insist on 8x volume packaging to get a 2lb box with 10oz contents. never again....
Another seller that thinks model trains are made of platinium (granted they are OOS now): Athearn bay window caboose, MSRP $24.98 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Athearn-AT...147607?hash=item23b89cedd7:g:iXkAAOSwRXNckG1F Atlas caboose, MSRP $13.95 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Atlas-3984...191678?hash=item23b89d99fe:g:ymcAAOSwO7dckHgV
A quick search turned up at least one dealer who has two of the Athearn cabooses in stock at MSRP. The Atlas caboose looks to be more scarce, but the eBay seller does have the "make offer" option.
Just wanted to be sure that nobody missed this "find" at only $5 + Shipping. A bay window hack with bad paint, mismatched trucks and a different coupler at each end, with one coupler being quite unusual. I'm not sure what makes it a Santa Fe caboose ……. https://www.ebay.com/itm/SANTA-FE-C...608163?hash=item5d8d103523:g:1BwAAOSwVeZdFlKv
LOL! I am shocked there are no bids yet! Surely this will turn into a frenzied bidding war before its over.
If you look real close at the number it is 999056, a typical Santa Fe caboose number with the three nines in front. Above it you can make out the "ATSF" under a coat of paint.
And ..."N" KATO SD50 SANTA FE #3849-2 | eBay . It is clearly marked GP50 ! Have to like the $ as well. Tom
*** Atlas # 39842 - C&O Cupola Caboose - Lehigh & Hudson River # 17 - NEW *** | eBay > This sold for for $ 39.95 ! I last purchased one similar for a little over $10.00 and some odd change ! Tom
Atlas should do another run of the Magor C&O hacks. A number of road names have become nearly impossible to find.
I purchased both the #11 and #17 L&HR cabooses from my LHS when they were first released for $13.95 per caboose. This is the downside of the hobby today, everything has a limited production run and if you miss it the first time around it looks like you're going to pay the price.
