I just picked up a new S2 today and man am I impressed. For such a small package it really pulls well and the sound is really good for such a small package. Don't know why I didn't get one before but I am impressed. I run mostly thru frights and passenger trains but I do have 8 switchers of various makes. Both steam and diesel. This has become my favorite. I looked at getting Loksound put into an Atlas MP15DC but the cost was way more than the S2. Maybe Atlas will make another run of MP15's with sound. That would really hurt the wallet.
They're great! Have you been playing with the yard radio sounds? It's a lot of fun to show off when you have guests!
No I haven't got my PROCAB set up to handle all the extra sound function keys. I do like the engine enough that I bought another. Saw some SP units available but when I went back they were extinct so I bought another Canadian Pacific. The CP logo looks good even if not my favorite road. Would be nice to see Atlas for more modern switchers with DCC and Sound. I don't believe any major roads run the S2 any more.
