1. I am looking for a tacky glue that I can use to fasten in my coal loads without gluing them in permanently. Anyone have any suggestions?

Go to the scrap booking people. They do a lot of that stuff. I use Aileen's Glue from Michael's.

Mebbe some of that old time rubber cement would work. That stuff stays tacky forever, doesn't it?

How about that non hardening RTV?

Woodland Scenics has a tacky glue to hold people in place on the layout that works very well without being permanent. I use it to hold containers together and to hold lumber loads on bulkhead cars.

The Woodland Scenic Hob-e Tac glue. Works good for anything that you don't want permanent. Dries transparent or clear. And it is water soluble.

I've used Ambroid Tac N Place. It works fine for me.

That sounds like s good idea. Does it pull the paint up or anything? Would be good for temporarily holding loads on flatcars.

  10. Thank you all for the information. I tried the Woodland Scenics stuff and it seems to have worked well.

    Thanks again.
