They were to big and messed up the headlight area so a race car it'll become.

Now to get another Stang out of my storage box to replace this one Uuuuuuuuugh PITA.

    Here we go again.

The race car will get headlight cover sheet metal panels.

Needs me a cinnamon brown Conventional Pete w a Silver 8V92, whitch I am told, had a spread axle drop deck trailer. This guy was a great friend of mine. Let me live in his house during my early RR career. He liked trains, I liked trucks. When he fired that 8V92 up, everyone within a block knew it. He was not obnoxious about it, but it was a big as you say, "detr/drip/troit". always a puddle under it, but always the the one that started up and went to work.
Was a mechanic on a ship for 3 months, that had 4, 12V92 super turbocharged motors that drove Kato generators. They were faithful suppliers of power, "not propulsion". With religious consistency, the oil and filters were changed every 100 hours.

These were marine applications of same, with the ocean as a radiator. But Wow the horse power those engines made.

Okay got some Detroit territorial alpine green on the engine also started working on my GMC crackerbox's motor going to be fun as it's molded in the frame it's a sylvan kit.

Also got some work done on the GMC's trailer that's going behind the Freightshaker until the Jimmy is done.

Cored out the exhaust on the reefer with a #80 drill bit painted 3 rims red and a replacement grey wobbly lol.

The slider works fairly well so into the pictures.

Really enjoying all these details Vince. Is the V92 just a bigger version of this engine? All the little details on this build are great to see and I am learning a lot too. Thanks.

Mr G yes the 71 or 92 after the V usually identifies the cubic inch in Detroit diesels not all driptroits but most early motors.
An inline Detroit would then most likely be 6-71 or 6V71 for the V6 version you kinda get the idea, cummins used to be 3 digits to identify the motors where Cat used to be 3406 identifies it as either a V6 or inline 6 cylinder cat and 3408 identifies it as a V8 cat.

I still don't know all the motor prefixes but this helps a little for you I hope hehehehehe.

Also under correct lighting the engine's are the proper shade of green not as dark as the pics show.

Okay friend loaned me his $10 Harbor freight airbrush so got a little paint work done on the Gmc crackerbox frame and the tanker.

Got a little bleed undervthe tape on the hood but not real bad easy touch up.

So now to let the paint cure for 48 hours before doing anymore work to them.

Still need to chrome pitcher gauge panels and a few other thing's

    Enjoy

    Vince,
Where did you get the Cragars? Those would look nice on a lot of cars I can think of- Classic Metal works Chevelle and several old Model Power offerings (4-4-2, 'Cuda, El Camio) as well as the new Oxford Charger.

Looked them up they are Busch.

Not promotex or herpa my bad

I get them from truck stop hobbies in Colorado my preference.

They are cragers but with HD truck tires so I had to also buy the tire/rim set that comes with the cones to get the smaller diameter rubber to fit these rims.

I have a 57 mini exact that's getting these rims also.

To me it's worth 2 sets to get these rims and tires there's 8 crager rims per set enough to do 2 cars.

Should look great on my 57 that's going to be painted in coral with silver mist roof, coral & silver interior.

    Hope this helps some

I gotta get 1 or 3, of these jeeps, as my Vicki, worked as a letter carrier for the USPS for 27 years. This is one HO venture she actually supports.
So Vince. Where did you get this USPS delivery jeep kit? Before I get in a jam here. I already showed her... My bad....

Let me contact the guy I get these from see what he says as these are not controlled by me and are extremely limited production.

I know he's holding a couple more for me for next month.

I mean every Ho resident needs mail delivery hehehehehehehe.

I know a serious But head lol.
