Took a few minutes yday to watch for this train to head west. I had seen the crew getting put on the train, so took a jaunt out to this location and waited patiently. A foursome of vultures swirled overhead for a bit, just wondering I suppose!
Nice catch Buddy. The engines seemed to be straining, is that a grade? BTW, watch out for those vultures. The other day I heard one say "Patience be damned, I'm going down and kill something!"
Spent time on Fathers Day watching the Miles City local heading out of town. Lots of bad order cars being drug over under a speed restriction.
Great place to watch them roll bye!! Looks like a couple of "bad order" cars in there? Derailment? Like the "Cascade Green" in there!
What a great vantage point to view a passing freight. Really nice mix of cars including those tank cars on flats.
It is a wonderful spot to watch trains from! It takes a bit to get there, but is well worth it. I am sure the crew really wished for a different train, but it does make for a really neat train to watch go by. The wrecked tanks, flat wheels and who knows what other concerns they must have had to worry about.

Eastbound coal. Still a lot of these trains here. This one is just beginning to accelerte after going over the hump east out of Glendive. Next work is the LONG climb up Beaver hill.
Tried an evening shot which went ok, And from Sunday seeing the swallows get disturbed, And lastly a prickly pear rose!
