Anyone know what's up with Classic Metal Works?

Are they still associated with Round 2? A lot of new stuff is showing up. I saw a couple of good looking '55 Chevy pickups on Ebay and see numerous new items soon to be forthcoming on Walthers' website. None of it really looks like the warmed over recycled offerings that were coming out of Round 2 for a while, although some of the old standbys are back. There are '67 Fords in several police liveries along with '53 Ford station wagons and '50 Plymouths in new colors. The '60 Fords and '41-47 Chevy trucks are still around including tow trucks and a couple of pop trucks. Those include a Chevy Coke truck that looks reasonably correct without the splashy (and totally incorrect) graphics typical of the Round 2 offerings. There are also '55 and '57 Chevy pickups and '55 stake trucks along with '54 Ford Semi tractors. Although the above items are all HO, there are also a number of good looking N scale items. I for one have missed CMW vehicles and would encourage everyone to go take a look.

When I searched for them on google, the Round2 site still came up, but it doesn’t have the new products like walthers does. I’m assuming Round2 still owns them. Maybe they decided it was time to upgrade the Metal Works Line.

Round 2, up until now at least, has been focused on a different customer base than CMW was. Looks like they figured out that wouldn't work eventually and either fixed the problem or sold it off to someone that would. In their defense, perhaps the initial offerings were a quick and dirty stopgap just to get something out there. All good questions, but it looks like some good stuff is on the way.

Nothing much in N scale for a long time. Sure wish they would fill in some of the vehicle voids we have.

Unfortunately, there are no new vehicles in N scale so far except a '54 Ford pickup I think may be new to N scale at least. However, Walthers shows a number of new paint schemes on '67 Fords, '50 Plymouths and and '53 Ford wagons. There are also a number of tractor-trailers (Ford, White and International) in different liveries along with several beverage trucks. All is not lost.
