From a hotel room, not too far from the old Santa Fe Peoria main line, good morning, good evening, where ever you may be. It’s time for weekend Modeling Plans. I started my weekend a bit early yesterday by getting up at 4:00am and meeting my buddy, Brian, at Toluca Illinois for our annual tradition of railfanning the BNSF Transcon to Galesburg for Railroad Days. We had a great day and caught a lot of traffic. Today we plan to check out the local hot spots before we go to set up our layouts for the show this weekend. It’s nice to be back at Galesburg. I was afraid I was going to miss it this year but fate had a funny way of bringing me back. The show will go on for two days and I look forward in seeing all my friends while operating the layout. It should be a great time. So how about you? What do you have planned? Let us know. We’ll assemble again on Monday the 24th to see how we all did. Well --- Saturday: We are taking our Granddaughter to Irvine park -- to ride behind their Choo Choo, let her ride a pony and perhaps go to the Zoo. Then we may go over the "great" park to go up in a helium balloon and ride on the carrousel. Hopefully before we leave I can get the ends painted on my caboose project -- we'll see. Sunday: Depending on what I get done Saturday morning -- if I get the ends painted on Saturday - I will mask - then paint the caboose bodies. Or -- I will paint the ends. From there -- we'll see. I will continue work on the interior of a structure. I have a sound chip to assemble and a lighting effect. Then I have some small details to add as well. Then I hope to start my next scratch build project.
