Does anyone on here model this railway?

Watched a show on Netflix last night about this great narrow gauge railway, about an hour long, and fell in love!! Alcos running around, even a 2-8-2 that's been restored! And the scenery, oh my!!

    Would make a great layout!:D

I know there has been brass (HO) made in the past, of their various diesels. So there has been some interest in modeling this operation.

Z-scale would be cool, can build some serious mountains more to scale!!

Awesome ride. However, I doubt I will ever model it. Some day I do plan on an Nn3 narrow gauge layout, only Denver & Rio Grande between Durango and Silverton. No real grade, just try to create the illusion of one with lots of mountains and canyons and the trees leaning slightly "up hill". ;)

I’m still holding on to hope that Bachmann will release models of the Alco diesels that run on the WP&Y in On30.

There's a couple of the GE "Shovel nose" types on Ebay right now in HOn30, brass of course, for $1,250.00 each!

Kurt, Thanks for the video. It looks too cold a place to model!

With 25-30 feet of snow, you don't have to worry about scenery-it's all white!:D

They have summer, too! Typically 65 -70 degrees F and near 24 hour daylight at summer solstice. I motorcycled that in 1984 when the train was down and have a brake shoe from trackside.

Don't model it but have ridden on it twice. Busy little RR during the summer when cruise ships pull into Skagway in each day.
