48 barrels. They're not all on this flat car. You can barely see a few on the loading dock in the background.

    From the online auction site!
Won it this morning! Not bad for just over $10, with shipping!
Precision Masters car. Limited edition Rio Grande, as I understand.
    Unassembled kit.

Pulled the trigger a bit earlier, and got a set of 14 Micro Trains
Rio Grande Cookie Box boxcars. Virtually brand new! Should probably
arrive by Thursday, depending on the Post Office! And when they’re shipped out.

Wanted this set when it first came out but was more than I really wanted to spend. Saw it for a steal of a price at my favorite e-tailer so now it has a new home.

Unfortunately, the Auto Train won't fit through my covered bridge.

Looks like the carpenter shop has some work to do. Should be easy since you are the foreman. lol

Yikes... 240 miles... is it in the same state or country?
Did you mean to say NSLHS (Not So Local Hobby Shop)?
At least you came home with some goodies!

I wonder how often that may have happened in the 'real world' of railroads... a prototypical height miscalculation? It happened in real life for a fire station near me... they built a brand new building and got new trucks that didn't fit through the door... similar to your model issue with the covered bridge.

Probably happens more than we think. I've seen it happen with big trucks and overpasses.

I'm not the carpenter, a friend of mine scratch built the bridge and several other structures (water tower, switch tower, barn, silo). He's much more talented than I am. My F59 and Superliners barely fit through the bridge. But I'm in the process of increasing the size of my layout, and will switch the covered bridge to a track with freight cars.

That is in the same state. I live in eastern Montana, so Billings is my nearest true train shop. The next closest are in Minneapolis, Helena or others I do not know of. Making the trip is usually a trainful day driving along the former NP right of way!

Probably sees lots of BNSF on that circuitous 500 mile round trip.

So getting back on track (lol) of this thread... an unnamed etailer that does not advertise here... has been 'finding' odds and ends for several months. Among ones which interested me were some long out of production Milwaukee Road A2 Atlantics. I got both Number 2 and 3... to go with my lonely Number 1. Now all I need is Number 4 to have the full 'Collectors Edition' and Matt at Fox Valley can then work on the F7 Baltic class.
