Hard to follow an act like that, Kurt!

    "Anticipation"
At dawn, an eastbound grain empty pauses west of the interlocking as a westbound local leaves Gavin Yard. A high green on main 1 greets the local.

    "EMD Glint"
The classic lines of the Electro-Motive Division SD40-2 are bathed in the golden light of dawn at the Minot Amtrak station as a westbound local stops for a red signal.

Derailment this morning in Stanwood, IA.
Misaligned switch may be the cause.
    Highway 38 has reopened.

    Oh no!
    Wow!

I spent a bit of time west of Soo Tower waiting for Amtrak.

"Splitting the Signals: Soo Tower West"
Amtrak #7, led by well-abused engine #50, splits Soo Tower's west interlocking signals.

This train was led by something different:

I believe it was a switch that went to a spur that someone forgot to align back.

That's a pretty cool way to transport intermodal trailers! They look new.

Weird to see that 75MPH sign! I've only seen a couple of those in Montana!
