So I only have power to the track in one area so now when I operate certain turnouts I lose power. Do I need to run power to each section before/after a turnout? Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
OK can't figure out how to edit the subject. Spellchecker helped me out by changing DCC to FCC. Sorry Dan
What track are you feeding your power to? Out of the box, Kato turnouts are power routing and segments of track could be without power depending on turnout position. I'd start by feeding power to the single track mainline within the curve on the lower left and see if that changes anything. woodone is right that you also have a reverse loop within your design which must be isolated and wired accordingly, else you'll have a short circuit.
I know I have a reverse loop and I have a Digitraxx AR1 taking care of that. You’ve answered my question that Kato track is a power directing switch, which is what I figured, so in order to run more than one engine at a time in different areas of the layout I will need to power all the sides of the turnouts except the reverse loop. Correct? Thanks for your help Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have no experience with Kato track. But in my opinion, you cannot have enough feeders. I'm the opposite of many modelers, in that I power every track joiner to the bus. I'm on my fourth layout of this style and have never had any track go dark.
