I have two Atlas 4-axle locos using Digitrax DN163A4. They run like champs, and at desired speeds. I was able to adjust speed curves on both so they would run at similar speeds. However, when I go to MU the units, they run at perhaps half the normal speeds. If the MU is deleted, they go right back to their old selves. CV54 on both is zero / off. Using NCE power cab, and JMRI interface. Any ideas on how to fix this? Before I messed with speed curves, they could MU just fine, although they were not yet speed matched.
Did you enable BEMF? If so, you need to CV57 correctly so that BEMF works in both MU and single mode. Try setting CV57 to either 85 or 102 (hex 55 or hex 66)
That's something I don't know about that. Been running DCC for a long time, but need to learn some more. Thank you for the response. I will look into this ASAP. I can set the CVs to whatever digital number I want, I believe. I will be back with results.
Well, that worked! Thank you Rick. CV57 = 85 did the trick, and now all three units are pretty closely matched and play nice together. Now onto the rest of the locos...
