I am designing my first very compact n scale layout “Western Rambridge Railroad” let me know your suggestion and advise.
Very good start. Can see you are scratch building the turnouts. Are you using jigs or hand laying. Keep up dating please.
It looks very well done and something to be proud of. I've been out of modeling and electronics for some 25 years now so I couldn't help with that stuff.
Thanks dualguage and shortround! I am proud of my layout. Yes the turnouts are handmade without any jig. I am working on video that shows how it can me made without any special tools.
… hmmmmmm, are you building your layout in your office? You are willing to go the extra mile to get what you want/need. Have you modeled in other scales?
Its kind of my own very small office in my own house. I am willing to go to any extent to get what I need but its not available in my country. and if I find anything rarely then the price is way way too much compared to the price in other countries. so I prefer importing from foreign countries where it easily available and I can get things in bulk and combined to save on shipping. the price I will get here is the double the price of imported items including the import duties and shipping etc. for me its very easy to watch people building there layout on YouTube, they can go to the hobby shop and get whatever they want but that's not the case in my country there is no place like hobby shop and if there is any there is no model railroad stuff. that's the reason I built Turnouts. No I haven't modeled before in any scale. I am modeling first time in N scale. I was considering to model in Z scale but I found that its going to be costly and difficult to find related stuff than N scale.
Very well done! That's a lovely layout and something to be proud of. The fact that you're hand laying turnouts for your first layout says a lot about your confidence in making models - I am planning to move to my 3rd layout and I still haven't mustered the courage to hand lay turnouts, even in HO scale! Keep up the good work! Cheers!
Thank you Nimo, Yes I am proud of my Layout and I am aiming to finish it as fast as I can. that hand laying turnout wasn't that easy specially where I had no prior knowledge and haven't seen any turnout previously. but I had to do it and to make it work because that was the only option I had, it was the test of my patience and that's what derived me to do and make it work properly in first place. and also the encouragement from all the community is also contributing to do things I haven't done previously. I am so excited.
at last Finally completed my Layout and here is the video. it took a lot of time to do weathering static grass coloring and all the textures to look right also did little bit lighting on station and on street. Finally its done. I hope you like.
Your layout looks GREAT Ravindra! Your enthusiasm shows in every detail and it runs as well as it looks. I like your working signals too -- a really nice detail not often seen in N.
Thank you! model railroad community also inspired me a lot. yes it is one thing to make it but then it also has to run smoothly. I was concerned because of the hand maid turnouts. I will have another video showing the transition from outer loop to inner loop.
Very well done. Nice rocks and great work on the turnouts. Being that you are in INDIA how big is Model Railroading their. Are their many places that sell Trains ect. Are their Trains Clubs. Thanks for sharing your work. Bob
