    The Milwaukee Road had many caboose variations prior to the ribbed bay window caboose. The 28' wood variety was certainly NOT rare, But most came from the acquired Chicago, Terra Haute $ Southeastern. Another group were home built boxcars.
    My 28' ( first of this kind I've built) was made from a Roco Model. I reduced the body one foot and built the gabled roof cupola. I reversed the bolsters on each end to put the trucks in the correct position and added my own details...……..

    Sounds like some hefty surgery on the Roco but the results turned out great. Nice job!
