will be coming? Is there a site where I can find this info? I live in South Carolina and would love for myself and my grandkids to see it. I just need to know if will fairly close or if I'm looking at a pretty far road trip. Any help is greatly appreciated.
If they run it on a summer tour for the 150th Golden Spike Anniversary, the farthest cities east on the Union Pacific system are Chicago, Memphis, and New Orleans, assuming the train will even go there. I don’t know of any official plans though, or if it will even be done in time.
Last I heard was no immediate plans for any place east of the Mississippi. That has been a while so things may have changed.
OK, thanks. I keep up with the work on it on You Tube. They have the 2 sections put back together and working on the piping. If anyone hears a schedule, please post it. I'll check in from time to time.
Wow, such a fine thing for the UP to celebrate its heritage this year on the 150th Anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad's completion. I somehow missed the news. Even their website is stoked up. https://www.up.com/heritage/steam/index.htm
I understood the main problem for this behemoth is turning her. Few turntables can accomodate her. Dom
