I'm still unable to upload new images to my railimages account. Alas. Hopefully no one else is having this problem.
Have you tried uploading images directly to the thread? Click on the button in the reply box below at the bottom of the page and follow the instructions. I usually use the "Insert: Full Image" option after the file is loaded.
A grubby MILW photo from my teens, taken about '75 or '76 at what I think is Deval Interlocking in Des Plaines, IL.
Interesting old single sheathed boxcar in the foreground. Unlettered so must be in use as a storage shed?
Hmmm -- that's a very good guess Box. I hadn't thought of that. The C&NW had a more direct route from Chicago to Janesvllle, WI and garnered a lot of their business, but I don't recall seeing frames amongst the C&NW's loads. AMC had a plant in Kenosha, WI at the time, but looking at maps, the MILW's main was miles west and I can't see that the MILW had access.
Bad weather here in Hattiesburg this morning so I didn’t drive downtown to the rail yard. However, I was on the coast a few days ago and did get a shot of the KCS yard in Gulfport. Not much of a shot but the No Trespassing sign was right off of 49. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Here is another one from last Wednesday. They were putting together a small "freight" train to be used in a movie production somewhere in the Austin area.
From what I understand, it is a low budget movie. I doubt they will care. I suppose they could do a vinyl overlay of a yellow warbonnet on the front of the blue locomotive and approximate a Santa Fe freight locomotive. Would probably be less expensive to use computer graphics to put one on after shooting the scene. Or they could come up with a fictional railroad and letter both the caboose and locomotive accordingly.
