Amtrak today bought 75 locomotives for their long distance fleet.

Someone needs to apologize to Mr. Anderson.

News is that a HUGE order of new passenger cars is right behind this order. The old Superliners have reached their frame time limit and are scheduled to be withdrawn. This massive and unprecedented order of passenger equipment was written up in the Congressional Record last year.

The withdrawn before entering service dining cars, which are still undergoing warranty repair, will eventually enter service. Meanwhile, the old diners are already being withdrawn, leading pundits to hammer Mr. Anderson as being anti-train.

BIG apology from Trains Magazine in the works??? Nah.

Anderson's mission is to kill Amtrak, not save it.

I think he'd also be happy to sell off lines, or sub contract to maintain the Amtrak access.
