Good Morning! Time to gather around and see what we have planned for the weekend. Not much for me. I have not had time to replace a section of track on the City Job. At best I’ll run a train on it this weekend but with Christmas almost here, the Holiday Madness will certainly take over. So how about you? What do you have planned? Let us know. We’ll assemble again on Monday the 17th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and as always... High Greens!
My plans were turned inside out. Had a cardiologist appointment yesterday and things are looking much, much better! So much so, that next week I start a new medication. Unfortunately, the potential side-effects - though very rare - are serious enough to require hospitalization for a few days, being monitored 24/7. So from Tuesday through Friday I'll be trying to keep people from seeing my butt hanging out of the back of the gown. On the bright side, if there are no ill effects in that time, then I'll never have to worry about them in the future.
I plan on working on my Arnold Rapido S-2. Perhaps mill the frames on a couple of Atlas SD-7's -- have to remove the front fuel tank. @Rocket Jones --- Thoughts and prayers that all goes well!! Hope Y'all have a great weekend!! Wolf
Lots planned and the family is trying their hardest to interrupt them. I am currently working on a new section of the layout that was actually planned to be last. The ideas started flowing a week and a half ago and now it is half way completed. I won’t give away the surprise except to say I want it completed by Christmas. I have most of the supplies with a few on order. Today (Friday) I am building a few kits. However they will be interesting since the instructions are all done in German. Also I found a kit of three well cars that I forgot I had so that will be built as well. If any time left tonight I will build some trees. Sunday will continue with scenery. Rocks, lots and lots of rocks. Then some paint then...nope not gonna tell.
my plans... Build more of the basic benchwork for my new layout and get the initial track put down for staging and entry to the helix leaving/entering staging (double track)
lay track on a steep grade and test trains running on it. If the slope wont allow a 12-15 car set with just 2 locomotives and a 8 car set with 1, I have a lot of rethinking of layout arrangement to do then. I really hope it's not too steep, working with every spare inch I can find to get enough length into the track to keep 2.25%
RJ, I hope it works out for you. After some yard work and shopping I hope to add ground throws and wire my 16"x8' modular yard. I also need to build another curved reversible module to facilitate a drill track for the yard. At the rate I am going it will take quite a few weekends to make it operational.
