All you need to do is determine which system satisfies your needs the beat and dive in!

The key point is "Fit your needs", give that some thought and list them out on a sheet of paper and then look at the systems!

ECoS is supporting more their own decoders and decoders with Railcom (read data/ settings from decoder automatically the first time it is placed on track and then add necessary icons for functions) and most of the European protocols. Piko is also selling a version of the latest ECoS CS - 'Whats neat this week' has covered it in some of their resent podcasts. You can also look at Digikeijs DR50000 CS. Covers both Xpressnet & Loconet, built in WIFI and about all the DCC connectors you can think off although unlike ECoS not an Android.

I have looked at many systems, and read many posts...
What I really want to know is not in the marketing, it's the gory details that I then compare and decide which system seems the least annoying. They all say they are glorious and work perfectly.

For now dual motor shields for 3 boosters and a programming track on an arduino is working ok, but not being able to read most decoders is annoying. The fix is probably something simple, but the DCC++ arduino hardware combination issues are just word of mouth documentation.

On 'Whats neat this week' pod cast, from around episode 46 they actually plug the CSs in on Ken's layout and test it. He tested Power Cab & Piko's this way. In rmweb.co.uk forum they also have posts where they discuses use & problems experienced with various CS. Seems also that production is also switching to WIFI and apps as main method of control. If you are using feed back, the feed back protocol (Loconet or Xpressnet) will have an influence on the CS.

I use DCC++ only to program and had problems programming with the latest versions of JMRI DecoderPro. Manual programming no problem. From other member's post is seems DecoderPro picked up recently a problem or two
