In the summer of 1930 the Southern Pacific took delivery of 14 new GS-1 4-8-4 locomotives from Baldwin Locomotive Works. Four were assigned to the Atlantic Lines, (T&NO). In 1937, the 10 Pacific Lines locomotives received 22,000 gallon rectangular tenders to replace the 16,000 gallon cylindrical types. During WWII seven more of these GS-1 locomotives were transferred over to the Atlantic Lines. Number 4404 became T&NO 710. Here is my model of it pulling a PFE reefer block. It started out as a Con Cor/Kato S-2 Northern. Here is a prototype photo of the 4404 in 1934 with its cylindrical tender pulling the Summer Cascade near Portland, Oregon.
