In the summer of 1930 the Southern Pacific took delivery of 14 new GS-1 4-8-4 locomotives from Baldwin Locomotive Works. Four were assigned to the Atlantic Lines, (T&NO). In 1937, the 10 Pacific Lines locomotives received 22,000 gallon rectangular tenders to replace the 16,000 gallon cylindrical types. During WWII seven more of these GS-1 locomotives were transferred over to the Atlantic Lines. Number 4404 became T&NO 710. Here is my model of it pulling a PFE reefer block. It started out as a Con Cor/Kato S-2 Northern.

Here is a prototype photo of the 4404 in 1934 with its cylindrical tender pulling the Summer Cascade near Portland, Oregon.

A Union Pacific signals crew makes their way along a service road as a double stack train being pulled by SD60M 6263 and SD60 6028 passes by.

A little late to the party, Photobucket was having one of their hiccups on Friday.

My Bowser C-430's with a Flexivan Train on the Strongsville Model Railroad Club Layout, we had an open house last weekend in coordination with the Srongsville Historical Society's Harvest Festival. Best attendance by the public ever.

    See you all later!

I caught these cats on flats back in 2014 and instantly knew I wanted to model a similar load one day.
