Kato New UP City of Los Angeles Armor Yellow Color?

Hi All,

I was wondering if if anyone has gotten the new Kato City of Los Angeles and can report on the shade of Armor used in this run? Is it closer to the last “Orange Yellow” of the previous run or more a “Lemon Yellow” of the older UP Passenger cars?

The latest run matches the first run and business cars perfectly (bottom three cars in this picture). The top car is the run from the 90s and has more of that lemon color.

It may just be the lighting but each car looks to be a different color.

 

It's the lighting. Look at the trucks as well. Those haven't changed. There's only lemon and better.

 

Now, I recall someone saying a ways back Kato's a bit two-sided about their color claims. One, they only run things in Pantone colors... the reason they won't run an NCL. Two, they do run things NOT in Pantone colors (including some recent trains....)

Is that just blab or are they really being duplicitous?

 

Virtually every Kato UP run has been a different yellow. The car's in the picture are exactly as they appear (I have them all). the only difference I see in the trucks are two are silver and two are grey. Even the two COLA's are NOT exactly the same (but close). The Business Train is definitely darker than both COLA's (bordering on Aspen Gold).
