Arrived the other day. Real hot and dusty and unfortunatly no trains yet. Hope to get some railfanning in while out on patrol.
Hi Tony, Hot and dusty here too. At least I don't have to worry about someone taking a shot at me. Keep your head down and come back safe! Thanks for watching our backs! God bless!
God Bless you Tony! Stay safe, that is primary. The trains will follow I hear that President Gunn of Amtrak fame gave them Iraquis tips on how to handle railfans so stay alert! Happy railroading! Russ
Keep safe, Major. Great to see you have the opportunity to keep in touch with your fellow N scaler friends stateside. Wish you the best and thanks for the job you're doing for our country.
Take care! Stay safe!!!!! Keep your fellow N scalers posted on how things are going! THANK YOU!!! Boxcab E50
Take care of yourself, stay safe, and get home in one piece! Hot and dusty he says... who'd've thunk? hehe
Tony Thanks for your service...be safe and gods speed. By the way keep you head down around the officers. (oops hope your not one) Us vets have to stick together. I am a 3 tour Vietnam vet. Hope to see you home real soon. Shannon WP LIVES (and so does the ATSF)

Stay safe sir, I was there last year but It wasn't like it was now. Well I might be going back there later this year with the 15th MEU, but were not quite sure yet. Well hope you see some trains, I saw one not 20 hours after the invasion started down by the southern oil fields, we crossed over the tracks and I though, man it would be cool to see a train and not 5 minites later we had one pass our convoy, and then when my unit (11th Marines) was leaving Iraq I saw another train down by Al Nasarya (cant spell). Good luck to you. Kevin D Mumaw LCPL USMC
Oh.......er.......ahem......perhaps we forgot to mention that it is Bagdad, CA, that is a great spot for desert railfanning! Our bad. You may have to backtrack a little. Sorry about that! Russ BTW, best wishes and good luck! [ 24. July 2004, 20:30: Message edited by: tehachapifan ]
