Has CONRAIL E&L while reporting Marks are American Car. Is at Consolidated Barge and Grain used as a rail stop full of sand. These were in a yard set at Lange Stegman, was at least two other Rio Grande units.
Sorry to say I have returned to fully retired, I have ceased driving the grain deliver truck and will not be visiting these yards again. My old physique was having issues driving where I had to stop. I do enjoy all the photos and is a pleasure to have shared my own here.
Finding legacy equipment is fun. Thanks for photographing these and I hope your retirement can make it possible for you to get outside at your leisure for more pictures. If I ever buy a 35mm slide scanner, I'll have some to post.
I saw a Southern Pacific locomotive last night, I think it was a 9-4400-CW, it was at dusk, word a patch and was in Marana, AZ near Sunset Road....
I enjoy looking for early BLD dates. About twenty years ago I found a flat car flat car on a forgotten siding in the woods. It was IC with a BLD of 1947. Camera, what's a camera. C'mon, this was before smart phones. Then there's this rail that was replaced when KCS upgraded the Gulfport Branch to Class 4 CWR about six years ago. This wasn't the original rail laid by the G&SI (Gulf & Ship Island) between 1900 and 1910, but it must have been when they upgraded to 95 Pound rail about 10 years later.
