Yeah, and they even gave all of the different classes of "goods wagons" special nicknames, usually fish or some other aquatic critter. http://www.ltsv.com/w_ref_codes_fish.php I had to go by the tube station next to "my" square to catch the underground in London. I felt special.
A random morsel from that stack of prints I bought back in March. This one is a trio of C&NW Dash 8s running light in some unknown location in the early 90s.
Love finding old tracks in concrete, and brick roads. A bunch in the Seattle area still from a 100 years ago......
There used to be some in Fairhaven, WA. (Which some call "South Bellingham". It may actually be part of Bellingham these days?) I believe those were from a long, long abandoned interurban operation.
The old Bellingham Bay & British Columbia Railway had a line thru the center of town, which in turn became the Milwaukee Road when they bought them out. I wanna say the old depot is on a main streeet thru town, and is now a pizza place. Could be the old BB&BC tracks?
No. This is well south of the MILW/BB&BC/B&N area. Not sure if you ever explored the MILW in Bellingham? This is (was?) in Fairhaven. It has been a long time since I was last there. Noted these one time, when chasing trains with Al Currier, post-MILW.
It was probably still fairly new at the time. LOL Lost it was and I wish that the rain would do the same to my truck.
That's the Boxcar logo that has been out for several years now. I think it looks great on some equipment but to me, it just doesn't fit on the locomotives.
