If I remember correctly, I believe Minitrix was recently purchased by Marklin. I also believe Marklin stated that they would no longer be producing American prototype equipment or be distributing Minitrix in the US.
This is a P.S. to my previous post. I think the North American Distribution Center for Marklin is somewhere near me here in Wisconsin. if you would like, I'll try to get a hold of them for you. I think they have a website too. Do a search for Marklin and see what happens.
Found it! www.Marklin.com(not TOO obvious. Am I a bonehead or what?). Going back to see if they own Minitrix. I may have just dreamt it.
Okay, here we go. Went back to Marklin's website, which IS near me. But I found no reference to Minitrix or N scale anything at their site. But I DID find a hobby shop that carries Minitrix in the US. The only problem is that everything listed on the hobby shop's site was of European prototype(reinforcing what I said earlier about there no longer being any US prototypes being made/distributed in the states). But I would give them a call or an email anyway. Just because they don't carry US prototype locos doesn't mean they won't have parts for them. Here's the info: Modellbahn Ott Hobbies, Inc. 1145 East Philadelphia Ave. Gilbertsville, PA 19525 Phone:800-MDL-BAHN Email:mdlbahn@ptdprolog.net Hope this helps. If not, you can't say I didn't try! : )
Thanks U.P.2000,I'm going to check with the shop on Mon. Way ubove the call of duty,You definately get a gold charma starrrrr!!!!! Oh by the way... GO PACKERS!!!!!!! ------------------ THE B&O ROCKS!!!! ROYAL BLUE [This message has been edited by ROYAL BLUE (edited 01 May 2000).]
Any authorized Maerklin Dealer should be able to get Minitrix parts for you. I just ordered some this weekend from New England Hobby Supply (Bob Bell). They have a web-site www.nehobby.com. Good luck
Royal Blue, You are very welcome for the help. But it looks like I may hve wasted your time and mine! Looks like WernerSaur found the best/easiest solution. : )
Minitrix Parts I also need minitrix parts, but Marklin will not sell to the public, you have to order from Walthers. I also need Minitix motor brushes the number I found on Marklin parts is E 400 159 00 is the new number. The bruses are square with springs one on each side of the engine, if you have some please let me know. swiss0324@yahoo.com
Hi The chap that runs this shop http://www.arkits.com/ replaced / repaired my n scale 2-10-0 bogies. I think the wheelsets were replaced. Whilst I don't use it much, it runs a treat now. He and someone else in the USA were doing something about rejuvenating the minitrix engines.
You might start a thread: "Need Parts for < brand name > < product >" There are likely many of us that have old scrap models. I once traded my MRC 2-8-8-2 to a guy who did just that.
