Scratchbuilding videos or articles?

I would like to do some scratchbuilding, but I am feeling a little green right now. I would like some experience, but I also want to know what I am doing so the model doesn’t look terrible. Does anybody know of any YouTube videos or articles (or threads here on Trainboard) for scratchbuilding freight or passenger cars?

i'm sure there a threads on here, could also try diesel detailer forum, hope it not a problem promoting other forums?

there is a guy who scratch builds tank cars. and there are many who build locos and stock from little more than a few castings.
