While Amazon does have a number of facilities across the nation it also has some stuff that is sold directly from the vendor of a particular item and the site will say that when you are looking at the screen, as the whether it is coming from their warehouses, or direct from a vendor. The purchaser can give direct feedback on an item by going back to their original purchase order again. Plus often Amazon contacts the purchaser by E-mail and asks for a review of the product, and the seller, and if it arrived on time. Those reviews often determine whether Amazon continues doing business with a third party seller. I have submitted a lot of reviews to the point that occasionally I am contacted by Amazon to reply to a person's question about a product. They run a very tight ship as far quality control and service. And I will 2nd Norseman Jack's comment on Kato Japan and their branch Kato USA. They are known for quality but can't be held responsible for a 3rd parties mishandling of their product once it has left their control and both Atlas and Kato pack their locos extremely well to survive shipment and the 500 pound postal sorting gorilla.
its all good im done with purchasing online ill just go to trainworld its a 10 min drive. but when the katosdp40f came the box was broken cracked covered in scotch tape i got my money back i dont care any more just gonna go to train world and purchase. me a es44ac if something is wrong ill just drive back and return it its done thanks for the help amazon and kato are reputable probaly the shipping carrier broke it and the ones with the busted couplers had a crack in the frame so yeah.... its all fine thx for the help

If you're only 10 mins from Train World I highly suggest going there to buy you train stuff. They have great prices and you get it right away without having to wait for the shipping and potentially shipping damage. Although living only 10 mins from Train World is a dangerous thing. I would be going there every day!!!!!
