I managed to get a couple of cars done this week. Accurail 40' Plug Door Boxcar kit, removed the cast on grabs and sill steps and replaced them with wire grabs and A-Line Sill Steps. Painted with Scalecoat II Reefer Orange and Oxide Red then lettered with Herald King Decals. Car was owned by MDT (NYC Reefer Arm) and leased to the Reading in the mid 50's. It's primary use was for the hauling of banannas from Port Richmond to points inland. [ Kadee 50' PS1 with Hydroframe Cushioning Kit, painted with Floquil C&NW Green and lettered with Dan Kohlberg's Decals. Car built in 1963 and used in General Freight Service. Thanks for looking! Both really nice cars Rick! Thanks for posting. I lived in AL for a number of years and that GM&O car makes me smile. Most of the ICG men I knew were former GM&O guys.
Based on some of your other models, it looks too clean, but variety is the spice of life. By the way the next time you cut the grass it would be nice if your swept the side walk after your got done. Rick Jesionowski
Maybe some weathering on the siding... I'm not sure even a freshly painted house would be that white... it would pick up some grey and dirt, etc. as soon as it rained and a few cars drove by...
It is too white isn't it. If I remove it so I can work on it, and I'm careful, I might be able to make it look better without ruining it. Thank you and a ticket to Hokum's matinee show for you. I'm on at 2
That would be fun ! Good idea! But a bit difficult. But I will try after I remove it and put it on the bench. Ticket for you as well. Two o'clock Show
