Did anyone ever rescue those rusting diesels? Believe I heard a rumor one was going to a RR museum?

Yes, they were hauled away and are being preserved. Here is the one that is farther back in the center of the image. It is at the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke.

That looks great! Glad to know they were finally given a good home. It is amazing to see them there in 2009 as I remember seeing them there in the late 80's looking in about the same shape.

While not as exciting, here is another catfish rolling by some neglected relics. Atlanta Howell Wye maybe early 2000's.

Kurt, they are too far away for me to tell. One may be Martin (can't remember his last name, not Hansen). They have quite a crew there now.

I felt sorry for the poor old scarred up BNSF in the first set this morning - two sets of burnt doors ..

Thanks Hemi -- that's a welcome sight. The P Company lives on.

Looks like it - several nice locomotives in good shape and some fairly clean and well kept track. I didn't linger - I was on company time and on my way home from a customer site. I may get a chance in the next couple weeks for a more in-depth visit. :)

Max, I think the aircraft is a Boeing 737. I worked on them in 2002 in Tulsa, OK. We had a crew lend a hand when it was slow on the Space Station.

Aye - we get every one of them through town. It's fun to catch them in unusual positions - I liked grabbing this one with the bikes in the foreground - I couldn't find a decent angle to get a car/truck in the picture, though! Would have been picturesque to have planes, trains, automobiles AND bikes!

From my b&w days in 1975 at Leithton, IL, a Soo freight led by SD-40-2 No. 770 approaches the EJ&E diamond. Both lines are CN today and Leithton has become an important connection in the CN network. I stupidly never took a photo of the J's interlocking tower here. It's gone today I'm sure.

I haven’t seen much of the EMD tier 4 units. The ET44s are relatively common around me, but I don’t think I have seen those at all. I wonder when a model version will be released? I’m looking at you, Scaletrains.
