In what may be the worst marketing strategy ever, seller "lambocountach" is selling all sorts of "Detail Associates" parts on eBay by grouping 8 to 25 packages of identical items together. For instance: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-13-...296861?hash=item52081ade5d:g:44YAAOSwPoZaxs8V . The irony of this is that a selection of one item each from several of these listings would interest me as a package, but I have no intention of spending hundreds of dollars on duplicates that I don't want and can't use. What is this guy thinking? Most sellers would list the price for one package of a particular item, and show that 8 to 25 other packages are available, so that a buyer could select what he actually wants and ask for combined shipping.

Who made the "Lima Locomotive Works" decal sets you have?

Nearly 30 years ago I purchased some custom decal sets from an individual up in Wisconsin getting some not produced in N scale decals at the time for SP&S and GN steam and cabooses as well as logging loco decal sets which included the Lima along with other hard to find ones. They were about half the size of some current MS decals but were packed with data as compared to any offerings from MS. Unfortunately like a lot of other small basement or garage run one person businesses he is no longer in business.

The page has been removed. I was able to view it when first posted, above. It was an N(?) scale couple making whoopee in public. Probably gone because inappropriate.

Funny how lackadaisical eBay Sellers often overprice their wares with decimal point errors, but rarely underprice in the same way.

I dunno. I think that is just human nature. If someone gives me $5, I probably just put it in my pocket with my keys and whatnot. If someone hands me $500, I make a trip to the bank.

Likewise, if I am selling a $500 item, I make darn sure I put in $500 and double check for mistakes.

But then, I am old enough to remember when $1 bought lunch in a restaurant, or an HO boxcar, or 2 kids seats in the bleachers at Wrigley Field.

Not really, considering how long it took to earn a $1 at that time. Remember, gold was $35/troy ounce in those days, "inflated" from $14.

I have no doubts that many of these errors toward higher prices are no more than sucker fishing attempts.

Yea...for all the work done on it...that 'engine' detail suxs !! Also...it would near have to be a static model as I dont think those open doors and n scale figures most likely glued down would really work on a freight train running 60+ on some mainline somewhere....JMO
