Of course it is made by Kato in N scale.

A set of these ran near Brooklyn for a while and they are running in Europe and Japan. Cost is running around $90 for a single set.

Neat set! I've got all 3 sets Kato made, for a total of 16 cars/locomotives.
Saw something posted, some time back, about installing a DCC decoder into the power unit.
    Gotta find it again!

That's actually "Brooklyn" as in Brooklyn, New South Wales, Australia, NOT Brooklyn, New York, USA.

Sorry about that instead of Brooklyn and Altona I should have realized when Ettamagoh appeared in the equation.

Warning! Once you start buying Japanese trains you'll start down a bottomless money pit!
    Don't ask me how I know... :D

My Japanese buying has been limited to Tomytec fishing boats and structures that fit in the port and Bandai B train locomotives and freight and passenger equipment. And the excellent little power units by Kato that have both trucks geared. My containers are also Bandai. I researched the dimensions of the loco and found that it is a little over 60 feet for the single unit which probably won't run on my 8 inch curvature.

I was wondering whether it was Brooklyn NY or Brooklyn Yard in Portland, OR, then I saw these more Australian Aboriginal-sounding place names so I knew it can't be anywhere in the US.

    Thankfully, my collection consists of:

    16 car M250 cargo
    16 car Eurostar
    10 car TGV

And a couple of short, 2 car Japanese passenger trains.
They work perfectly on the elevated viaduct set I have.
If I got any more of the unusual Japanese/other stuff, I
would NOT have room for all the other "stuff" I have now!

Obviously time to call the contractor for a room addition.

I can’t afford it! My folks wouldn’t go for it!
And I really doubt the city would allow it!
But then, there’s incompetence in charge here!
I’d do it in a hurry, if I could! New train room also!

Well I did seriously debate about buying one. But once again the operating radius stops me. Then I wondered what I could do with some excess Bandai B units and experimented with combining a power cab with one of the containers flats as a single unit. But once again came up against the operating radius. Better left alone. Instead I have created the blue train this weekend. Seen from the right a power cab/coach, RPO, one of my little container flats, and a baggage/power cab.
Quite a little train in all of 10 and 3/4ths inches long. Though I may visit my Japanese dealer again for two of their all axles geared power units to replace the single truck geared ones I have under these.

Neat little train! Could use another baggage car
and maybe a couple more container flats? Or would
    that overpower the layout?

With the express boxcar in the back it is a five car train for mail and express and there is another mail car. This with two three car trains made up of two cab/coaches and one coach make up the bulk of my new passenger fleet. There is a railcar that is powered by one of the little Kato chassis also that can take a trailer car. In addition to my small fleet of 44 and 70 tonners there are four Shay and two Climax plus three DD 51s, a Japanese prototype which are also Bandai, thus shorter than the Kato version. A MicroAce 0-6-6-0 and two 2-6-0s round out the loco fleet. My rail fleet now is a combo of Japanese tankcars and container flats along with conventional American cars that are limited to 40 foot. The upper level operates on 8 inch radius where the bottom level is 9 inch radius.

When the 2nd section of the layout, the port area gets built, plans are to use this train as two cars in the port area. The cab/coach and the mail will be at the station. The cab/baggage express with the container flat will be at the docks to pick-up cargo. Then it backs to the station and rejoins to other two cars for the trip up to the plateau. At the brewery it pulls up to a loading dock leaving the container flat and express baggage there while the rest of the train proceeds to the station. The two totally passenger consists are to service the canyon line with one round trip daily by each on each line. The railcar makes a single trip daily and can haul and express box car or the other RPO.

I used to have a passenger fleet of 70 and 80 foot cars which I downsized in favor of 50 to 60 foot cars which I used on the first Turtle Creek and they basically overwhelmed it. That was when I discovered the Bandai B train line and downsized again to these little 32 foot cars. I chose to use the parts that were in the kit to make mine mini RDCs rather than electrics since they came with two different roofs.

The container feeder ship I built was designed for the Bandai B train containers. So a smaller ship, smaller containers, and smaller container flats, plus the small locos allows me to get much more into a port area, and the short passenger cars fit nice to my small train station platforms.
