    Okay

Now that I am back in the hobby Polly Scale (I think that was the paint) is out. I have a bunch of seven year old solid blocks of pigment. What is everyone using now for rr specific paints.

    Thanks

There are lots of options out there, but I would start out at Model Railroad Hobbyist
    Acrylic paint guide

You need to be a subscriber to get it, but subscribing is free and it's a great Epub worth the time anyway.

Start there. Paints have changed, but you'll discover that the newer paint are really good. And fairly easy to get.

Tru-color is my go to now. It was tough having to give up Floquil, but I managed to adjust. I found Tru-color TCP-708 Metalizer Silver is a great match for the older Kato Budd passenger cars. No buffing required. TCP-018 Gloss works great to finish. TCP-708 Metalizer Silver is not listed in the RR colors on Tru-Color's web site. You can find it under automotive colors. No affiliation with Tru-Color. Works for me.
