The last time I knew there wasn't any spare parts available from Walther's. You may have to do a web search to see if there is any out there, or find a cheap used model to use as a parts donor.
The headlight casing somehow fell off my LL LV SW-9 and was lost. I've had no luck finding parts anywhere.
This guy has replacements halfway down the page: https://www.shapeways.com/shops/keystone_details?section=Keystone+Customs&s=0
Then there is a path of last resort. Clean out the vac reservoir good and vac the area where it was suspected to have been lost. Dump the contents of the reservoir on a white sheet of paper and get a set of tweezers and go hunting. Has worked for me a number of times to frequent to count. While setting and waiting or some stain to dry I did a few searches for LL and the internet is full of folks bemoaning the fact that Walther's doesn't carry parts. Then I remembered that LL Canada wasn't acquired by Walthers so tried there but it appears that they have changed names and no longer do N scale. Somewhere though in the dusty dark recesses of my mind there was a guy who carried a big line of N scale parts so I am still looking for his site.
I've been meaning to start listing spare parts for LL locomotives for a long time through Wiggin Locomotive Works but the new job last year put that on hold as I have zero time to start up a website with cart and all. I have many parts for LL engines, mainly GP18 and GP20s. What are you looking for Hemi?
I don't know and can't test it, as I don't have one to try. Anyone willing to give it a shot? I specifically need the conductor's side front handrail.
With Atlas having acquired Life-Like's N Scale line from Walthers earlier this year, does anyone know if Walthers has a stash Life-Like parts that will be transferred? Neither website show anything available. I have an A-B-B set of Life-Like E-7s in IC and am seeking PRR body shells for them.
One source of parts to fit the LL SW chassis is Micro Trains. They offer two versions of their SW-15 shell on their sight that includes the bottom sill with pick-up tabs. You can upgrade your switcher and the kit also has the truck side frames, two versions depending on the kit. Kits cost approx. $20 and I have found them at some suppliers for a few bucks cheaper. Another possible source for the headlight castings that seem to go missing might be to check for anyone who is still selling the discontinued line of Detail Associates parts possibly on Ebay.
Any complete shells for a Nickel Plate Road or Norfolk and Western GP18, or a NYC GP20 lurking in the parts bins? Mike
