I may have to revisit my N scale kit bash of Tower 17 in Rosenberg as a more accurate G scale model has showed up on the garden railroad layout at the museum in Rosenberg. G Scale N Scale Full Scale.
Looks like a good candidate for a scratch build...passenger car siding styrene...trying to figure out what to use for the gingerbread....
Here is the G scale representation of the SP/ATSF Union Depot on the garden layout. Here is my N scale. And here is the prototype.
Here is the Railway Express office. G Scale. N scale. Prototype. I found this photo taken by Gary Morris after I had built the model. What I thought was a funky window in the image above was obviously at one time an REA sign. Although it is gone here, you can still see where it was. I need to fix that. If you look real close you can see Tower 17 off in the distance on the left.
You have good eyes. Most folks don't notice that. The track coming more toward you goes right off the edge of the module so is never used. The solid track going in the other direction ensures better performance for the wonky rolling stock that some folks insist on running at NTRAK setups.
