Valley oil is receiving their first delivery of propane (Off loading facility is finally done) Thanks, Wolf
Nice compact little industry. I like the red trim on the structures. Your Palm trees look really good. Are they very fragile? Are they removable? They probably wouldn't survive on my layout. My hands would be like hurricane Johnny coming through, always knocking them all down.
Thank you!! They are not to bad (as far as being fragile) the fronds are brass. Yeah, I made them removable. I try to make everything removable - buildings, signs, poles and trees. Helps in cleaning and if I need to do work around it - I can remove the item, so I do not damage it. Wolf
Somewhere I have an old unbuilt kit for a large bulk propane tank. The tank itself is lucite or some sort of clear plastic. I think it may have been one of the Hometown series of kits. I don't recall the manufacturer. I'll check latter in the week when I'm in the attic checking the "trap line".
As do I. Whenever you are down here in Orange County -- you are more then welcome to visit. Would love to show off my little empire --- LOL Run a train or 2 - or - 3 .... Wolf
Grew up in Ontario and worked in Orange Co and Garden Grove in particular, spent many an afternoon at Arnies Trains...but that was a lifetime ago. Still come down to visit the parents so be careful what you offer...
Wolf that's one of the best representations of an on-line propane dealer I've seen. I really like the spaciousness of the scene, not all crammed together. Right now I am building a bulk oil dealer on my layout and am using parts from the Walthers Interstate Fuel & Oil kit. I can see some common parts with their propane kit in your propane dealer scene such as the pump house and parts of the unloading rack.
How cool is that-? I'm in Westminster. About 3-4 miles from Arnie's. Great shop!! I stand by my offer... next time you're in town and have the time --- let me know!! Wolf
Thank you, very much!! It's from a number of different photo's I have seen. I wanted it to be as realistic and plausible as possible. With ample room for vehicles to move around. The propane tank is scratch built (A friend of mine made it years ago) I built the loading platform. The fuel rack is a kit bash from the Walther's Interstate kit. (Same friend's work) I did do a little modifications to it. The building is from Micro Trains -- I think they marketed it as some sort of grain building. To me, it looked better as the office/warehouse for this scene. Again -- thank you, so very much for the kind words!! Wolf
And South Gate (Southeast LA country) native here. Been to Arnies once when visiting the area and yes, it's a great shop.
