Hi: This 2-8-0 loco stalled on almost every frog. So I added a keep alive, it is located inside the luggage car and wired to the decoder which is installed inside the tender. With "just" 30000uF, the results are positive, it runs very smoothly. It was relatively easy to find the rectifier bridge in the decoder, though soldering was another story. Then after soldering the other 4 wires (rail pick ups and motor) I insulated everything with epoxy. The 3 10000uF capacitors, wired in parallel and with the mandatory resistor and diode are located inside the carriage car. Keep alive devices are hard (and expensive) here, but this home made one seems to do the job:
Seems to be running really good, you must be really good, a job like that would lose me when it comes to soldering delicate things.
