Hey guys, I'm 59, retired, and had Lionel trains with only an oval for many years. I just bought some N Scale Kato trains. I bought their Master 1 set and their V 2 expansion set and also their V4 siding kit. I'm thinking a 5 X 7 board? Very intimidating. Right now, my wife has the house set up for Christmas, so I haven't even opened the boxes. We'll see. Frank
Great to have you with us! Hopefully you've already started through our N scale forum, a lot of ideas and inspiration there. You may want to look through some of the T Track thread, see if that idea grabs your fancy.
A long running discussion here: http://www.trainboard.com/highball/index.php?threads/n-scale-t-trak.51946/
Welcome aboard, Frank. I see you are already receiving assistance from our members. I think you will enjoy it here.
Welcome Aboard Frank! EGADS! Christmas before Railroads...I do see your point though...intimidating Christmas wife N scale here
Frank- Welcome to TrainBoard! As to intimidation, it is easy to defeat that thought. Take your time. Read and research. Ask any questions. Share thoughts for input. You will avoid wasted time, money and frustration.
Rut Roh, ( said like Scooby Do ), not only did you start out with a kit, but 3 of them right off the bat. Me thinks you might be in trouble, in a good way, or bad depending on how you look at it Many of us started out with a simple train set, and they grew into monsters. Mine a mini monster over 30-40 years. The main thing is, enjoy the hobby and the members here and other places. And be sure and keep us up to date on another thread like N Scale, Layout & Design, or the Inspection Pit Any name for the great empire yet?
