Back around 72 to 76 MR published a plan for a semi double decked layout.

    Features:

-Was probably one of those Pink background plans they used to do.

-The main yard was a stub, but it had a mirror on the end where it ducked under the upper deck to simulate it being double ended.

    -single track mainline.

-The station on the lower side of the plan had spurs that looked a lot like this Atlas Track Plan.

-the station area mentioned above also had a turntable.

Does anyone have this issue in their collection?

    Thanks

Subscribing to the MR all time archive was one of the best things i ever did. You can see every issue ever printed.

Could it be that you are searching for the original John Allen's Gorre & Daphetid Layout. I do not see mirrors in it but the rest of it looks close to your description. I'm looking at it in the book about his railroad. Maybe someone with more talent than I can find a way to display a picture of the layout plan.

Very possible it was the original G&D. If so, it would have to be expanded some, as John used small engines and short cars, so like many modelers back then, did not shy away from using 15" radius curves
