From the way the discription reads it look's like they've been paying attention to how LL has been doing things :D [IMG]

This was announced at the NMRA convention in July. No N scale locomotive was announced but Atlas did say they would announce one "soon" and that it would make a lot of people happy. Speculation is anything from a GE 44 tonner on up to include steam. We shall see.

The HO model is not the next N Scale one, although we can still hope for the future!

Well, Paul Graf from Atlas just posted a note
on the Atlas N Forum on what it is not

Not the FM H15-44 or H16-44

    Not a GE 44-tonner

But, he didn't say what it really is, except to say that he had to get off his computer and go test run it some more.........

He hinted that the release announcement should be posted within the next week.

I think the announcement may not be made until next month at the Chicago Model and Toy Fair...

That's a good bet, as well as an SD24 or GP40 (updated) since the chassis' for both are recently available [IMG]

Well boys, the news is out-

    Not a GE

    Not steam

    It-s the Baldwin VO1000!

And from what I've seen of the pre-production pics, it'll be a beauty! Another first-generation switcher, and finally a BALDWIN. Last Baldwin N scale switchers I saw were brass (not in my house).

Well I must admit, it ain't what I expected :D It is certainly not anywhere on my wish list, but I guess it makes some folks happy... good for them [IMG]
