Have handled a huge number of the sleeper cab caps back when I worked for Molded Fiber Glass... saw the decline in the cab-over caps (got down to a couple a week due to sales falling so significantly, and this after Freightliner spent a huge chunk of change designing a new one) while the more typical trucks went up and down with the market. Took Freightliner a couple of years to feel the pinch of falling sales after other builders lost business but in the end most of us were laid off when it finally hit... the town of Cleveland, N.C., had nearly every bare spot of land covered with all sorts of trucks awaiting a sales pick-up which it finally did about a year later... talk about trucks moving fast that back-log disappeared very quickly. Too bad its too modern... even a backdated truck to the time when I was hauling caps wouldn't fit my era but would still love to have something of it.
Not bad for an older model, just wondering if Trainworx would go the extra step and add cab handrails and quarter fenders instead of the full fenders found on the Concor model. I drove a 1984 Freigtliner that looked like the truck in my photo. The only difference, the truck I drove was white with a red and orange stripe. I believe they called the paint scheme "Texarkana". Just thought it would be neat to have a model of that truck While they are at it, a Freightliner FLC120 would be nice to add to the collection as well
