I'm just putting out feelers if anybody is interested in obtaining any special made scale ballast or other scale items such as coal for loads, coke for loads, sand, scenic rock and talus. This is just a feeler and I would have to come up with a price and find out how much shipping would be. These items are very realistic but may cost as much as 3 times the crap that companies sell. On ho ballast the size would be approximately 100% less that 3 inch scale,20% plus 2.5 inch, 20% plus 2 inch, 10% plus 1.5 inch, 25% plus 1 inch, 25% plus .5 inch. This is equal to number 25 mainline ballast according to AREMA. Yard ballast is much finer. I have the capabilities of doing any scale between G and Z. I can also scale things to your needs if you would like things coarser or finer.

It looks like the price would be around 10.00 a pound.

IMG_5959.JPG That's reasonable price for a prototype mix. How about an N Scale Class 5 for roads (Z Scale Ballast might work)?

what size in inches do you think that gravel is, the tannish orange clay base is very doable, it would take a little blending on your part to brush the gravel over the road.

    Class five is 1-1/2" minus.

After looking at your face book pictures I take it the you deal with N gauge, so I would scale in approx. 150 to 1 scale

Was that just a picture or did you want me to help you make that picture possible on your layout?
