Questions for Alex from Kato regarding the current web poll for their next N Scale steam project: Regardless of which loco wins, about how long might it be before we would see that loco go into production? The current leader in the poll is the NYC 4-6-4 Dreyfuss Hudson. Assuming that loco wins and Kato decides to make it, can we assume that a matching 20th Century Ltd. passenger train will also be made? Rumors started about the Olympian Hiawatha project almost five years ago, and that model is just about to become available now. Hopefully we won't have to wait that long for the next steam loco model from Kato.
As long as you may be asking questions, see about a larger turn table, to match the beautiful larger steam. (Curved turnouts would just be icing, on the cake!) Anyway, I'll be in Brooklyn next week, for track. And to resist another GS4 It's not that I don't want to sign into FB, it's the whole "work to pay for trains, thing" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Interesting video. Thanks!! Not surprisingly, answers regarding new product seemed necessarily vague and non-specific. On an encouraging note, the answer regarding a 20th Century Limited was pretty crisp (something along the lines of "of course that would be the matching passenger train"). Edit: I did hear two pieces of new info. a) Hiawatha is expected to ship in September b) FP7's will be available with pre-installed DCC w/sound (I no longer dabble in DCC and my sound consists of Kato Soundboxes w/surround speakers, but maybe good news for others)
