That is scary, since I recall watching also, way back when!
Also recall seeing the actual model being offered for sale in
Model Railroader magazine, for the smal sum of $25,000.

At that price, does it come in different numbers? I have multiple loops.

Try something really challenging, such as Tn18 scale. And a Happy Sloof Lirpa to you, too!

Actually, for the price, I hope it comes with a full DCC system, with Sound!

I decided to switch to a less colorful landscape, myself...

The Sea of Tranquillity and Western.

The bridges aren't very sturdy. But they really don't need to be.

How do I not remember this TV show?

Oh…only 9 episodes. And, after reading about it tonight, what schlock! It was the Love Boat on rails, but worse.

Who puts a swimming pool on a train? And this wasn't even a comedy! It reminds me of another 70's product, "The Big Bus". But at least that was intentionally corny. o_O

I remember that MR ad as well! Makes you wonder where that thing is today? Probably show up on ebay pretty soon with an asking price of $500K.

Marlboro ordered a car from Colorado Railcar Mfg. back when the Marlboro Express was being developed... almost was a pool in a railcar but they decided to cancel the project because of so many problems with the train's development... including how to deal with a pool on the train. The two bi-level sleepers and the mezzanine observation car (which was suppose to have the pool) were scrapped when CRM filed for bankruptcy.

Had the car been completed and painted as CRM it would have looked like this...

Its worth mentioning that Alaska RR has a similar Ultradome observation car.
