I joined today after looking for help fixing a Kato Well Car. 20 years ago, I modeled in HO, but started an L shaped N scale layout about 3 years ago. I am modeling the transition period from Wisconsin Central to Canadian National with no specific location in mind except Central Wisconsin. I am using Kato unitrack and operating in DCC with Digitrax. I am retired and enjoy being so.
Hi Don, Welcome. We're glad to have you on board. Being retired and in N-Scale is the best of all worlds. Just let your imagination go berserk, then select what looks best for you. Modeling takes on a whole new perspective, and Boy, is it ever fun....
Love your part of Wisconsin. My Dad owns land ( the old family farm) between Brokaw and Merrill, near the location once known as Finn on the Valley line. I live too far away and Dads getting too old to get up there much anymore though. I would love to build a layout based on the area. I remember going to the train shop in Wausau with my cousin, must have been around the late 1970's. Can't recall the name right now but I bought some of my first N Scale trains there.
