Good new year to all, I'm building the Walther's vintage dairy queen kit, painted it up as the kit box shows but after looking at pictures of DQs on line the windows are lacking the colored ads that really make it have its look. So my question is has any one ideas on what to fill the windows with? I wish I had the skills & knowledge to copy real ads off line and resize them......;-)

Is this the sort of thing that adorned the windows - from dairy queen vintage restuarant images?

Bill - the easiest way is take images, like the ones above, and copy them into any presentation (e.g. PowerPoint) or document (e.g. Word) file. Then simply resize the image all the way down to the correct size. Then print on a color printer at maximum resolution, and it should look just fine. In N Scale, the resolution will be just fine

As an example, these A&P store signs (A&P, S&H Green Stamps and Borden's) were done this way, glued directly to the window. The apartment interiors are mounted just back of the windows, to provide a depth look, and allow for front lighting

yes thanks Peter its items like those that I need but sized to N. Rick I am a total analog man in a digital world....I'm lucky to find the power switch to turn on the printer. Love the back grounds in the store/apartments do they show up without lit interiors ?

The store is actual shelving and figures. All of them can be seen, sort of, without lighting, but the interiors are best with lights. Even for "daytime"

Engineer Bill, I think all you have to do is when the printer window comes up, change the area that has 100% to the percentage you need. I just don't remember what the percentages are for the different scales. Someone will tell you though.

Thanks for sharing those signs and photos! What a great resource. I know Tomkat has posted hundreds of pages of signs, but I don't recall specific drive-in style stuff like this. A&W, region-specific, or especially generic signs would be very helpful when detailing. Are there online resources or vendors who provide these kinds of things?

Thanks for the offer Peter, this is such a great little kit it makes you wonder why they did not think to include decals with it......some of the details I'm adding to mine will be a fenced in back area, red poles for parking protection, red white & blue trash barrels and of course bench's/picnic tables to N-joy your ice cream at while rail fanning.
