Another great shot Herb! Was wondering if you ever got caught by the ranch hand for being in the "Loop area"? I ventured in there two times, once I stayed most of the day without being seen, the second, one train went by, and here comes the guy. The first time, I sat on the landing for the stairs, and no one spotted me. I wonder if William Hood had the same problems when he laid out the design for the loop?!:)

      Thanks so much Thom.

You know, I was very fortunate in the 80s and 90s to avoid almost any confrontations with either the Loop Ranch or the SP SAs. In the early 80s I used to make audio recordings and was told once by an SP SA to move my recording equipment because it was too close to the main. Another time I ventured to the top of Loop Mountain to get some different images looking down from above. I got my shots, but when I reached the bottom of the hill, I was met by the rancher from the Loop Ranch who advised that I stay on the "other" side of his fence! I imagine Hood's biggest concern was the tunnels collapsing!
