Santa Fe SD40-2 #5052

N scale Kato ATSF SD40-2. This loco started life as snoot nose #5027. I cut the nose from a SD40 and put the brake wheel from the snoot on it. It's a different style behind the brake wheel, but it's not very noticeable. I also added an anticlimber from an Atlas SD60 and covered the top of it in BLMA walkway tread. The handrails were reused and glued on top of the anticlimber (minus the drop step and MU receptacle). Details include MU hoses, air hoses, cut levers, new plow, rear view mirrors, sunshades, beacon, AC unit, antenna and stand, painted walkways and stair ends, relocated horn and airlines added to the trucks. This was the first loco I ever detailed to it's a little rough around the edges.
