NdeM 2-8-0 #296 "La Fidelita"

Probably the most well known locomotive in Mexico. Built in the NdeM shops in Acambaro in 1944, it is one of only 3 steam locomotives built in Mexico. Originally narrow gauge, was later widened to standard gauge. Christened 'La Fidelita' in honor of the deceased daughter of the master mechanic who was in charge of her construction.
