A little 3' gauge jewel. Built in 1904 by Baldwin (possibly Kerr, Stuart & Co), Ex-San Marcos & Tecolutla. On display in Oriental, Puebla.

      Is it just the photo angle, or is that headlight fairly oversized? Looks like it could illuminate half of Mexico!

      It's not the angle. But I've seen that before on locomotives down here. Here are just two examples of similar headlights on narrow gauge steam locos from other pages in the same album:

      I wonder what prompted use of a light that size? I can't think of a US or Canadian prototype. Must have been a reason.
