May I ask how you built the UGG grain elevator with twin annexes? I assume that it is scratchbuilt as I have not seen a kit like that. i need to build a similar Alberta Pool elevator.

      Hi Tim

this UGG elevator is scratchbuild, using Northeastern boards 0,8x0,8mm, corrugated Northeastern roof, Grandt Line windows, Evergreen pipes an Microscale decals. There is no really protoype, I build it similar to a photo in a book about Canadian Railroads. I will post more photos of this elevator soon.

      Wolfgang:

Thank you for the information. I have built cardboard mockups of my grain elevators so far (you can see them at www.bcrdawsonsub.ca on the Structures Page) but I was wondering about building the final versions in styrene, or possibly wood as you have done. I would like to see more photos.

I have been to Basle - nice town.

      Hi Tim

I think, your cardboard mockup of the Alberta grain elevator is bigger than mine and looks great! I browsed our website and I like it. I began model Canadian Railroads (and grain elevators!) in N Scale after a trip in western Canada in 1984, we visited also Dawson Creek, I remember the tourist information in an old grain elevator. I like this old wooden buildings.
My last two trips to North America are along the Route 66 from LA to Shamrock TX, there are a lot of interesting points also for watching trains (BNSF intermodal trains!).
